About the Wills & Estates Lawyer role
In order to service and develop our existing client base we are seeking a Wills & Estates Lawyer to lead this area of practice who relates to our vision for technical excellence, innovation and our client centric approach.
Whilst we don’t style ourselves as a ‘new law firm’ clients have said that we are the most “technologically savvy law firm” that they have come across.
The role primarily involves advising on estate planning, drafting various documents to ensure our client’s testamentary intentions are fulfilled and estate litigation.
Because most our clients are business people you’ll have to navigate various different challenging asset protection structures that they have established for this purpose. You may also be involved in assisting other lawyers in the firm on litigious matters and adhoc commercial advices from time to time.
The successful candidate will be passionate about succession and have a desire to lead the firm’s Wills & Estates Practice. The role will predominantly be client facing however it will depend on the professional interests of the successful candidate and may include:
- end to end management of client matters;
- estate administration and estate litigation;
- writing technical advices on a range of matters involving succession;
- precedent automation and process development; and
- contributing towards the firm’s internal knowledge base.
Your skills and experience
You will have:
- experience in drafting a range of succession related documents;
- ability to relate to people;
- a high level of attention to detail;
- understanding of document assembly systems and processes;
- a Queensland Practicing Certificate;
- be self-motivated and have the ability to use initiative to work at a high level with minimum supervision; and
- be highly computer literate with advanced skills in MS word – any programming or IT skills would be advantageous, but not strictly required.
